Braves Take 3-1 Series Lead

Freddie Freeman proved to be the hero for the Atlanta Braves in Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday. The Braves first baseman launched a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning off Houston Astros closer Ryan Pressly to give Atlanta a 3-2 victory.

The win gives the Braves a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and puts them one game away from clinching their first World Series title since 1995.

Freeman's Homerun: A Turning Point

Freeman's homer came at a crucial moment in the game. The Astros had taken a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly by Jose Altuve. The Braves had failed to score in the top of the ninth, but Freeman came up with the big hit when his team needed it most.

Freeman's homerun was his second of the World Series and his fifth of the postseason. He is now tied with Dansby Swanson for the most home runs by a Braves player in this year's playoffs.

Braves' Bullpen Shines

The Braves' bullpen was also outstanding in Game 4. A.J. Minter, Tyler Matzek, and Will Smith combined to allow just one hit and one walk in 3 1/3 innings of relief.

Smith earned the win after striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning. It was Smith's second save of the World Series.

Astros' Offense Struggles

The Astros' offense, which had been so potent in the first three games of the series, struggled in Game 4. Houston managed just two hits off Braves starter Charlie Morton and the Atlanta bullpen.

The Astros also struck out 10 times in the game, including six times against Morton.
