Washburn Women's Basketball Opens 56th Season vs. No. 13 K-State

The Washburn Lady Blues will begin their 56th season of basketball with a highly-anticipated match against the No. 13 Kansas State Wildcats.

The Lady Blues are coming off a 15-11 record in the 2021-22 season, finishing third in the MIAA standings.

The Kansas State Wildcats enter the season ranked No. 13 in the country and are the defending Big 12 Conference Champions.

Led by All-American Ayoka Lee, the Wildcats have won four consecutive Big 12 regular-season titles and three conference tournament championships.

The Lady Blues will be led by senior guard Tyler Geiman, who averaged 13.5 points per game last season.

Other key players for Washburn include senior forward Reagan Phelan and junior guard Alexis McAfee.

The game will be played at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8 at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kansas.
