Fire Status
The Rush Fire in Comanche County is currently at 10,500 acres and is 25% contained. The fire is burning in grass, mesquite, and cedar trees. There are currently no structures threatened by the fire.
Evacuations
There are currently no evacuations in place.
Road Closures
FM 584 between CR 182 and CR 183 is closed.
Firefighting Efforts
There are currently over 200 firefighters battling the blaze. They are using a combination of aircraft and ground crews to fight the fire. The fire is expected to be contained by Friday, March 10.
Cause of the Fire
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
