The project involves the creation of a comfortable and safe urban environment, taking into account the interests of all participants in the road traffic
As part of the national project “Safe Quality Roads”, the reconstruction of Bolshaya Sankt-Peterburgskaya Street, which is part of the route to the Lakhta Center, is underway in the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg.
The project provides for a comprehensive solution to transport issues, taking into account the interests of all road users. As a result of the implementation of the project, the throughput capacity of the street will increase, travel time will decrease, and the level of road safety will increase.
The key activities of the project include:
- widening of the carriageway to three lanes in each direction;
- construction of sidewalks and bike paths;
- installation of modern lighting and traffic lights;
- landscaping.
In addition, the project provides for the construction of a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights near the Lakhta Center metro station.
The total length of the reconstructed section will be about 2 km. The completion of the work is scheduled for 2024.
