SWAT Standoff, Shots Fired in Atlanta with Armed Person Barricaded Inside Midtown Hotel

Police Respond to Reports of Shots Fired

On Tuesday afternoon, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) responded to reports of shots fired at the Midtown Atlanta Hotel.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found an armed person barricaded inside a hotel room.

The APD SWAT team was deployed to the scene and established a perimeter around the hotel.

Negotiators attempted to make contact with the armed person, but they were unsuccessful.

As of Tuesday evening, the standoff is still ongoing.

The APD is advising people to avoid the area and to follow the instructions of law enforcement officers.

There have been no injuries reported at this time.

The APD is investigating the incident and will release more information as it becomes available.
