Shares of Eli Lilly and Company (LLY) are up over 2% in premarket trading after the company announced positive results from a late-stage trial of its experimental Alzheimer's drug.
The drug, called donanemab, met its primary endpoint of reducing the rate of cognitive decline in patients with early Alzheimer's disease.
Lilly said it plans to file for regulatory approval of donanemab later this year.
Caterpillar Inc. (CAT)
Shares of Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) are up over 1% in premarket trading after the company reported better-than-expected earnings for the fourth quarter.
Caterpillar said it earned $3.86 per share in the fourth quarter, which was above analysts' estimates of $3.72 per share.
The company also said it expects to see continued growth in 2023.
Vinfast (VFS)
Shares of Vinfast (VFS) are up over 3% in premarket trading after the company announced plans to build a new electric vehicle factory in the United States.
The factory will be located in North Carolina and will have the capacity to produce 150,000 electric vehicles per year.
Vinfast said it expects the factory to be operational by 2024.
Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL)
Shares of Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) are up over 1% in premarket trading after the company announced plans to launch a new artificial intelligence chatbot called Bard.
Bard is designed to compete with ChatGPT, a popular chatbot from OpenAI.
Alphabet said Bard will be available to the public in the coming weeks.
