The Star Trek family is mourning the loss of Jeri Taylor, the co-creator and executive producer of Star Trek: Voyager. Taylor passed away on February 11, 2023, at the age of 68 after a long illness.
Kate Mulgrew Remembers Taylor's 'Vision'
Kate Mulgrew, who played Captain Kathryn Janeway in Voyager, expressed her deep sadness at Taylor's passing.
"Jeri Taylor's vision of a woman leading a Starfleet vessel was groundbreaking," Mulgrew said in a statement. "It inspired generations of women and girls to dream big. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have worked with her and to have brought her vision to life."
Robert Beltran's 'Creative Force'
Robert Beltran, who played Commander Chakotay, also paid tribute to Taylor.
"Jeri Taylor was a creative force who helped shape Star Trek," Beltran said. "She will be deeply missed by the Star Trek family and by fans around the world."
Garrett Wang's 'Pioneer'
Garrett Wang, who played Ensign Harry Kim, described Taylor as a "pioneer" for women in the science fiction genre.
