Son injury wait, Maddison call, Sarr in - The Tottenham team Postecoglou must pick vs Man City
Tottenham travel to Manchester City on Thursday looking to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season
Antonio Conte is sweating on the fitness of Heung-min Son ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium
The South Korean forward picked up a knock in training on Tuesday and is a doubt for the clash with the champions.
If Son is ruled out, Richarlison is likely to come into the side, having impressed since his move from Everton in the summer.
Conte could also hand a debut to Yves Bissouma, who joined from Brighton in the summer.
The Mali international has been nursing a minor injury but is now back in contention.
Another option for Conte is to recall Oliver Skipp, who has impressed in the Carabao Cup this season.
In defence, Ben Davies is likely to start at left-back in place of Ryan Sessegnon, who is suspended.
Davinson Sanchez could also come into the side in place of Eric Dier, who has been struggling with a muscle problem.
Up front, Harry Kane will be looking to add to his tally of six goals in the Premier League this season.
The England captain is in fine form and will be a handful for the Manchester City defence.
Here is the team that Conte could pick to face Manchester City:
- Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris
- Defence: Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez, Emerson Royal
- Midfield: Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur
- Attack: Richarlison, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski
Tottenham will be looking to make a statement against Manchester City on Thursday.
A win would send out a message that they are genuine title contenders this season.
However, they will need to be at their best to overcome a Manchester City side that has won their last three Premier League games.
