Sabonis Leads Kings Past Jazz
Sacramento Extends Win Streak to Four
Domantas Sabonis erupted for 28 points to power the Sacramento Kings to a dominant 113-96 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night at Golden 1 Center. The win marked the Kings' fourth consecutive victory, while the Jazz saw their three-game winning streak snapped.
Sabonis, who was acquired by the Kings in a trade with the Indiana Pacers in February, has been a key catalyst in Sacramento's recent resurgence. The All-Star forward was efficient from the field, shooting 11-of-18, and he added 9 rebounds and 5 assists to his stat line.
The Kings took control of the game early, building a 15-point lead after the first quarter. They continued to pour it on in the second quarter, extending their advantage to 20 points heading into halftime. The Jazz never seriously threatened in the second half, as the Kings' defense held them to just 37.5% shooting from the field.
In addition to Sabonis' big night, De'Aaron Fox added 22 points and 7 assists for the Kings. Malik Monk chipped in with 18 points, while Harrison Barnes contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Lauri Markkanen led the way for the Jazz with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Jordan Clarkson added 16 points, but he shot just 5-of-17 from the field. The Jazz were without leading scorer Collin Sexton, who is dealing with a hamstring injury.
The Kings improved to 32-25 with the win, while the Jazz fell to 29-28. The Kings will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, while the Jazz will travel to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.
