Murcia, with more rain in six hours than in the last six months

"DANA will continue to be very active"

"There has been more water in six hours in Murcia than in the last six months"

The delegate of the Government in the Region of Murcia, José Vélez, has pointed out that "in the last six hours it has rained more in the Region of Murcia than in the last six months" as a result of the passage of the Isolated Depression at High Levels (DANA), which will continue to be "very active" during this Monday and will give way to a "situation of heavy rains throughout the week".

Vélez appeared this Sunday at a press conference accompanied by the president of the Region, Fernando López Miras; the mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano; and the general director of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Miguel Ángel Centeno, to take stock of the situation and announce the activation of the Special Plan for Civil Protection for Emergencies caused by adverse weather phenomena in the Region of Murcia (Plan Inunmur).

The president of the Region of Murcia indicated that "the situation is complicated and worrying" and, although the Region is "prepared", he stressed that "it is essential" to follow the recommendations of the Civil Protection services and remain "especially vigilant" to the evolution of the DANA.
