Player Ratings: AC Milan 0-2 Napoli – Chukwueze lively; several fail the test
Chukwueze lively, creates Osimhen's goal
Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze was lively for AC Milan on Sunday night, assisting Victor Osimhen for the winning goal in their 2-0 defeat to Napoli at the San Siro. The 23-year-old created the game’s opening goal in the 18th minute with a delightful cross that Osimhen headed past Ciprian Tatarusanu.
Chukwueze was dangerous down Milan’s left flank, using his pace and skill to trouble Davide Calabria throughout the game. He came close to scoring himself in the second half, but his shot was well saved by Alex Meret.
Osimhen continues fine form
Osimhen’s goal was his 10th in all competitions this season, and he has now scored in each of his last six games for club and country. The Nigerian is in the form of his life, and he is one of the most feared strikers in Europe at the moment.
Osimhen’s movement and finishing were excellent against Milan, and he was a constant threat to their defence. He is a complete striker, and he is capable of scoring all types of goals.
Napoli in control
Napoli were in control of the game from start to finish, and they deserved to win. They were the better team in all areas of the pitch, and they created more chances than Milan.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are now top of the Serie A table, and they are in a strong position to win their first Scudetto in over 30 years.
Milan’s poor run continues
Milan’s defeat to Napoli was their third in a row, and they have now won just one of their last six games in all competitions. Stefano Pioli’s side are in poor form, and they are in danger of missing out on a Champions League place.
Milan’s defence has been a particular problem for them in recent weeks, and they have conceded 11 goals in their last four games. Pioli needs to find a way to shore up his defence, or Milan’s season could be in danger of falling apart.
