People falsely warned of flash flooding due to a reported potential failure at the Post Falls Dam

On Saturday, August 27th, 2022, the City of Post Falls, Idaho, issued a flash flood warning for the area downstream of the Post Falls Dam due to a false report of a potential dam failure. The warning was issued based on information from the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR), which had received a report of a potential failure at the dam.
The evacuation was lifted after about 2 hours.
