Proclamation No. 1234, s. 2023

Declaring Tuesday, October 30, 2024, a Special Non-Working Holiday in the Philippines

Pursuant to the powers vested in me by Section 26, Republic Act No. 9492, otherwise known as the "National Holidays Act of 2007," I, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby declare Tuesday, October 30, 2024, as a special non-working holiday throughout the Philippines.

This holiday is in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, the Father of the Philippine Revolution, and the founder of the Katipunan. Bonifacio's unwavering determination and dedication to the cause of Philippine independence continue to inspire Filipinos to this day.

On this special day, Filipinos are enjoined to remember the sacrifices and contributions of Andres Bonifacio and his fellow revolutionaries in the fight for freedom and independence. May this holiday serve as an opportunity to reflect on the values of patriotism, unity, and selflessness that Bonifacio embodied.

The public is reminded to observe the usual holiday decorum and to take all necessary precautions for their health and safety during the holiday.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF,

I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 30th day of October, in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Twenty-Three.
