November International Break Threatens To Hinder Inter Milan & Argentina Superstar Return To Form
Lautaro Martinez's Impressive Resurgence Cut Short by Argentina Call-Up
Lautaro Martinez's impressive resurgence for Inter Milan has been cut short by his call-up to the Argentina national team for the upcoming international break.
The 25-year-old striker has been in excellent form for the Serie A champions this season, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances in all competitions.
However, he will now miss Inter's next two games - against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League and Atalanta in Serie A - as he joins up with the Argentina squad.
Inter Milan Boss Simone Inzaghi Left Frustrated
Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is frustrated by the timing of Lautaro's call-up, as it comes at a crucial time for the club.
The Nerazzurri are currently top of Serie A, but they face a tough run of fixtures in the coming weeks, including matches against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Juventus.
Inzaghi is also concerned that Lautaro could return from international duty with a loss of form.
Argentina Boss Lionel Scaloni Defends Decision
Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has defended his decision to call up Lautaro, saying that he needs the striker for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Scaloni said: "Lautaro is one of our most important players, and we need him for these important games.
"I understand that Inter are disappointed, but I hope they can understand our position."
