AC Milan missed the chance to close the gap on Serie A leaders Napoli to one point as they lost 2-0 at home to their title rivals on Sunday.
Luciano Spalletti’s side took the lead in the 22nd minute when Hirving Lozano fired home from close range after a slick passing move.
Napoli doubled their lead just before the hour mark when Giacomo Raspadori tapped home from close range after a cross from the left.
Milan had chances to get back into the game, but they were wasteful in front of goal.
Olivier Giroud had a great chance to equalize in the second half, but he headed wide from close range.
The result leaves Milan seven points behind Napoli at the top of the table.
Napoli continue to impress under Spalletti
Napoli have been in excellent form under Spalletti this season.
They have won 18 of their 22 league games and are yet to lose a game in Serie A.
Their victory over Milan was their fifth in a row and they now have a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
