Police Negotiators, SWAT Team Resolve Situation Peacefully
After an hours-long standoff, police have apprehended an armed and barricaded suspect at the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
The incident began around 11:00 AM when the suspect, identified as 32-year-old John Doe, entered the hotel and barricaded himself in a room on the 10th floor.
Police were called to the scene and established a perimeter around the hotel. Negotiators were able to make contact with Doe and began negotiations.
After several hours, Doe surrendered to police without incident. He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
No one was injured during the standoff.
Police say that Doe is facing charges of criminal trespass, menacing, and possession of a weapon.
The investigation is ongoing.
