Robinson to Undergo MRI on Wednesday; Injury Not Considered Serious

The Sacramento Kings will have to wait at least one more day to see their prized rookie forward Orlando Robinson make his NBA debut. The team announced on Tuesday that Robinson has been diagnosed with a sprained right ankle and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

Robinson suffered the injury during the Kings' preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night. He rolled his ankle while attempting to defend a shot from Lakers forward Wenyen Gabriel.

Robinson was able to walk off the court under his own power, but he did not return to the game. He will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of the sprain.

The Kings are hopeful that Robinson will be able to make his debut on Friday when they open the regular season at home against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Robinson was the Kings' second-round pick (35th overall) in the 2022 NBA draft. He averaged 12.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in his one season at Fresno State.

The Kings are expecting Robinson to be a key contributor off the bench this season. He is a versatile forward who can play both the power forward and center positions.

Robinson's injury is a setback for the Kings, but it is not considered serious. He is expected to miss only a few games.
