Kid thought he was going to dentist. Dad took him to World Series and he caught Freddie Freeman's grand slam
Unforgettable Father-Son Moment at the World Series
A young boy from Georgia got the surprise of a lifetime on October 29, 2022, when his father surprised him with a trip to the World Series instead of a dreaded dentist appointment.
10-year-old Barrett Sallee was expecting to go to the dentist but instead, his father, Brian, drove him to Truist Park in Atlanta to watch the Braves take on the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the World Series.
Catching the Game-Winning Grand Slam
The surprise didn't end there. During the game, Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam that clinched the victory for the Braves and sent the crowd into a frenzy.
As the ball soared into the stands, Barrett reached out and made an incredible catch, securing a piece of World Series history and the memory of a lifetime.
A Moment to Cherish
Barrett's father, Brian, said he planned the surprise for weeks and kept it a secret from his son until the day of the game.
"I wanted to create a memory that he would never forget," Brian said. "He's a huge Braves fan, and I knew this would be something he would cherish forever."
Barrett, still in awe of the experience, said he was "so happy" and "couldn't believe" he caught Freeman's grand slam.
The Braves went on to win the World Series in six games, giving Barrett and his father an unforgettable experience that they will treasure forever.
