João Félix: "I always knew I would come back to the Premier League"
Chelsea new boy João Félix has revealed that he always knew he would return to the Premier League after leaving Benfica in 2019.
The Portuguese forward joined the Blues on loan from Atlético Madrid in January and has made an immediate impact, scoring one goal and providing two assists in his first three appearances.
Speaking to the club's official website, Félix said: "I always knew I would come back to the Premier League. It's the best league in the world and I'm excited to be back.
Félix spent one season in England with Wolverhampton Wanderers before joining Atlético Madrid in 2019. He made 51 appearances for Wolves, scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists.
The 23-year-old is a product of the Benfica academy and is considered one of the most exciting young players in world football. He has been capped 24 times by Portugal and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Nations League in 2019.
Félix is expected to play a key role for Chelsea in the second half of the season. The Blues are currently ninth in the Premier League, 10 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Félix's return to the Premier League is a major coup for Chelsea. He is a world-class talent and could be the difference between Chelsea finishing in the top four and missing out on Champions League qualification.
