I was set on FIRE 🔥
A Journalist's Account of Surviving a House Fire
By [Your Name]
I was set on fire. It was the most terrifying experience of my life. I was asleep in my bed when I was suddenly awakened by the smell of smoke. I jumped out of bed and ran to the door, but it was locked. I tried to open the window, but it was stuck. I was trapped.
The smoke was getting thicker and thicker. I could feel the heat on my skin. I started to panic. I knew I had to get out of there, but I didn't know how. I started to cry.
Suddenly, I heard a voice. "Are you okay?" the voice said. I looked up and saw a firefighter standing in the doorway. He had an ax in his hand. He chopped down the door and pulled me out of the house.
I was so relieved to be alive. I thanked the firefighter for saving my life. He told me that I was lucky to be alive. The fire had started in the kitchen and had spread quickly. If I had been asleep for a few more minutes, I would have died.
I am so grateful to the firefighter who saved my life. I am also grateful to the fire department for their quick response. They were able to put out the fire before it spread to other houses.
I am now safe and sound. I am staying with a friend until I can find a new place to live. I am still shaken up by the experience, but I am grateful to be alive.
I want to share my story with others so that they can be aware of the dangers of fire. I want everyone to know how important it is to have a fire escape plan and to practice it regularly.
Here are some tips for creating a fire escape plan:
- Draw a map of your home and mark all of the exits.
- Choose two escape routes from each room.
- Practice your escape plan with your family and friends.
- Make sure everyone knows where to meet outside of the house.
- Keep a fire extinguisher in your home and know how to use it.
I hope that by sharing my story, I can help prevent others from experiencing the same tragedy that I did.
