Former Nebraska wrestlers Jordan Burroughs and James Green are set to represent Team USA at the 2023 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

Both Burroughs and Green were named to the 10-man freestyle team by USA Wrestling on Tuesday.

Burroughs, a two-time Olympic medalist and four-time world champion, will compete at 79 kilograms. Green, a two-time NCAA champion, will wrestle at 70 kilograms.

The World Championships will be held from September 14-18, 2023, in Belgrade, Serbia.

Burroughs and Green will be among the favorites to medal at the tournament.

Burroughs is one of the most successful wrestlers in American history.

He won a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London and a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

He has also won four world championships and two Pan American Games championships.

Green is a two-time NCAA champion and a two-time Big Ten champion.

The World Championships will be the first major international wrestling tournament since the 2020 Olympics.

The tournament will be a good test for Burroughs and Green as they prepare for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Nebraska wrestling fans can watch Burroughs and Green compete at the World Championships on NBC Sports Network.

The tournament will be broadcast live on NBCSN on September 16 and 17.
