Barys HC player Savitsky returns to action
After missing the last few games due to injury, Barys HC forward Nikita Savitsky is set to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday when the team takes on Avangard Omsk.
Savitsky has been out since suffering a lower-body injury in a game against Metallurg Magnitogorsk on December 10. The 26-year-old is a key part of Barys' top line and his return will be a big boost for the team.
Savitsky has been skating with the team for the past few days and has been cleared for contact. He is expected to play on a line with linemates Linden Vey and Darren Dietz.
"I'm feeling good and I'm excited to get back out there with the guys," Savitsky said. "I've been working hard to get back in shape and I'm ready to contribute."
Barys is currently in fifth place in the KHL's Eastern Conference with a record of 20-15-5. The team is looking to make a push for the playoffs and Savitsky's return will be a big help.
"Nikita is a big part of our team," Barys head coach Andrei Nazarov said. "He's a skilled player who can make plays and score goals. Having him back in the lineup will give us a big boost."
Savitsky is expected to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday when Barys takes on Avangard Omsk at Barys Arena. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. local time.
