AC Milan 0-2 Napoli: Lukaku and Kvaratskhelia condemn Rossoneri to damaging loss
Lukaku and Kvaratskhelia the heroes as rampant Napoli condemn sorry AC Milan to another damaging loss
AC Milan suffered another damaging loss in their bid to retain the Serie A title as they were comfortably beaten 2-0 at home by rampant Napoli on Sunday.
The Rossoneri were second best throughout and rarely threatened as Luciano Spalletti's side moved 18 points clear at the top of the table.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave Napoli a deserved lead early in the second half, before Romelu Lukaku wrapped up the points with a late penalty.
The defeat leaves Milan seven points adrift of second-placed Inter Milan and 18 points behind Napoli, who are now strong favorites to win their first Scudetto since 1990.
AC Milan's disappointing start to the season continues
AC Milan's defeat to Napoli was their fifth in Serie A this season and they have now won just one of their last seven league games.
The Rossoneri have been poor defensively all season and they were once again exposed by Napoli's attacking quality.
Milan's midfield was also overrun by Napoli and they were unable to create any real chances for their forwards.
Napoli continue to impress under Spalletti
Napoli have been in excellent form all season and they showed why they are such strong favorites to win the Scudetto with their victory over Milan.
Spalletti's side were dominant throughout and they fully deserved their victory.
Napoli's attacking players were particularly impressive, with Kvaratskhelia and Lukaku both scoring superb goals.
What next for AC Milan and Napoli?
AC Milan will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Napoli when they host Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Napoli, meanwhile, will be looking to continue their impressive form when they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday.
